They combine this senior level executive search experience with a hands-on executive perspective gained from many years in senior executive and management consulting positions. We not only understand what it takes to run a high quality search for talent, but we also understand from first hand experience what enables executives to be successful in various roles. Our executive experience allows us to dig very deep into the backgrounds of candidates to get past their elevator pitches and understand exactly how successful they have been, how they interacted with others and how they tackled various challenges and dealt with adversity. This in-depth assessment extends to a very thorough referencing process that not only ensures that we get a critical assessment from past colleagues, but that we also gain insights that will enable our clients to manage them more productively. A distinguishing feature of our practice is that all the calling is done by the Partners on an engagement. Katherine Turansky Ranek (Kathy)
Kathy Ranek has worked in human capital attracting,
developing, promoting, and retaining talent for almost two decades.
Establishing her own consulting practice in 2003, she has advised clients in
executive and mid-level recruitment, professional staffing strategies,
outplacement, executive coaching, talent assessment, networking strategies and
the use of technology and social networking in recruiting. Kathy’s executive
search career began with Russell Reynolds Associates where she spent 10 years
serving Technology, Real Estate, Media, and Financial Services Clients. She
then joined Korn/Ferry International’s mid-level recruitment subsidiary,
Futurestep holding a variety of senior management positions. For six years, she played an integral role in
the management of this division with her last position of VP of Global
Kathy has consulted to The Equinox Group and assisted in
opening the Western Regional office of Equinox Partners real estate executive
search practice. She also serves as a Board member for their sister company,
Most recently she was acting COO for SelectLeaders and
charged with expansion of the business, website redesign and product
development. She currently serves as a company board member. Kathy is also on
the Advisory Board for Fastlanehires.com and was instrumental in launching this
job board for the transportation and infrastructure industry in 2009.
Kathy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, from the University of California at Los Angeles. She is a regular guest speaker at Association Conferences and Regional Alumni groups on career strategies and the use of social and professional networking and technology in today’s job hunt. Kathy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs.
Siddhartha Valluri, PhD (Sid)
Sid started his professional career as a management
consultant at McKinsey & Company focusing on strategy, operations
improvement and marketing engagements. He has held senior executive positions
as Vice President & GM - Korn/Ferry Futurestep, Vice President Marketing
& Product Management - Agribuys Inc. and Vice President Talent Management
& Strategy – iCrete LLC. He was a consultant with the high-end executive
search firm Egon Zehnder International as an active member of the Financial
Services, Financial Officers, Human Resources and Industrial Practice Groups.
Sid brings many years of experience as a search consultant,
focusing first on the mid level executive market while at Korn/Ferry and more
recently on more senior level searches at Egon Zehnder International. He has
served a broad range of clients including large public corporations, venture
based start-ups, private enterprises and non-profits.
Sid earned a B.Tech in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an M.S. and PhD in Aerospace and Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology. He holds a Series 65 License and is a Registered Investment Adviser
